Temal is a rural municipality in Kavrepalanchok, extending from the Sunkoshi and Roshi river sides towards the Temal hills. Pokhari Narayansthan is its administrative centre. The area’s villages, temples and Buddhist religious sites are spread across nine current wards.

Narayansthan and other religious sites

Pokhari Narayansthan in Ward 5 is the starting point for Narayan Temple, the nearby Buddhist stupas and Tomsung Kunda. Bolde Fediche in Ward 4 has Bhim Paila on the Sunkoshi bank. For Gaukhuru at Thulo Parsel Bhanjyang, choose Ward 6; for Santaneshwor Mahadev in the Kuruwas Chapakhori area, use Ward 7.

The municipal introduction describes a strong Tamang presence alongside other communities, and identifies farming, livestock and bodhichitta bead cultivation among local livelihoods. These are features of the wider rural municipality, rather than facts to assume about every individual settlement.

Match the village to the current ward

The former Sarsyukharka village was divided between Sarsyukharka, Ward 1, and Chukha, Ward 2. Saramthali is Ward 3, with Cheptedhunga, Kuduwal and Chaithali references.

Bolde Fediche, Pokhari Narayansthan, Thulo Parsel and Kuruwas Chapakhori correspond to Wards 4, 5, 6 and 7. The former Mechchhe village was divided between Hlongsal Bhanjyang, Ward 8, and Mainajang, Ward 9. Mainajang and Saramthali are different places.

Use a specific village, monastery or temple together with its current ward number when checking an address. The ward guides include named places from municipal records; proposed roads and buildings are not a timetable of operating visitor services. For the surrounding Kavre area, continue to Namobuddha or Roshi.
