Enjoy Kathmandu is an independent guide to the Kathmandu Valley and nearby places. Start with a district, choose a municipality and explore its wards on the map. Within Kathmandu city, the neighbourhood index adds familiar place names to that administrative structure.
The aim is to make it easier to answer a practical question: where does this place fit? A neighbourhood can cross ward boundaries, and the same name can occur in different municipalities. Each guide keeps the municipality and ward number visible so you can compare the right places.
How the guides are checked
We use municipal profiles, ward directories and other identifiable sources to check place names and administrative relationships. A source review includes checking whether a document refers to current wards or an older Village Development Committee (VDC) system. A ward-office address is described as an office location; it does not establish the extent of a whole neighbourhood.
Some earlier ward descriptions were drafted with AI assistance. We have since reviewed the district, municipality and ward guides against identifiable sources. Source notes explain what was checked and link to the documents used. Where a review date is shown, it records a document review, not a visit or an endorsement by the municipality. A source review does not confirm current access, completed construction or every detail on the ground.
During review, we remove unsupported population figures, speculative descriptions and outdated personal contact details. Where official office information is available, we link to the municipality so readers can check it directly.
Reading the maps
Ward boundaries, neighbourhood reference points and office locations serve different purposes. A neighbourhood point helps locate a name; it is not a surveyed neighbourhood boundary. Use the maps to explore and compare places, and confirm an exact address with the relevant ward office when using municipal services.
Corrections
If a place name, ward association or source needs correcting, send us the page address and the detail to check. A municipal document, map or other identifiable source helps us evaluate the correction. We keep existing guide addresses stable when the text changes, so saved links continue to work.
