Around Patan’s historic centre
Patan Durbar Square is one of the Kathmandu Valley’s World Heritage monument zones. The square brings together palace courtyards, temples and stone water features, including Krishna Mandir and Manga Hiti.
Patan Museum occupies part of the former palace and provides context for Hindu and Buddhist sculpture. The Tourism Board’s museum guide also describes the metalwork traditions that continue in Patan’s workshops.
Explore beyond the city boundary
The metropolitan introduction places Mahalaxmi Municipality to the east and Godawari Municipality to the south. Their ward numbers belong to separate local governments. Check the municipality as well as the neighbourhood name before choosing a ward guide.
