Ward 8 of Mahabharat Rural Municipality is officially designated as Ghartichhap on the municipality’s ward office listings.[7] This area forms part of the former Ghartichhap VDC, which was merged with other VDCs including Gokule, Phoksingtar, Budhakhani, and Banakhu Chor to establish the rural municipality in 2017.[2] It is a rural settlement in the hilly terrain of Kavrepalanchok District, contributing to the municipality’s total area of 186 square kilometers and population of around 16,079.[5][9]
