Chobhar, also written Chovar, is associated with Kirtipur Ward 6. The ward office is listed at Jalbinayak, Chobhar, and the municipality’s restructuring table places the former Chobhar Bhutkhel village area within this ward.
Adinath and Jal Binayak
Adinath Temple stands at Chobhar and is also known as the shrine of Anandadi Lokeshwor. Metal utensils offered by devotees decorate parts of the temple complex, a distinctive feature described in the municipal heritage guide.
Jal Binayak is a Ganesh temple on the Bagmati below the southern side of Chobhar Hill. The municipal guide also describes the gorge and Manjushree Park in this area. The hilltop shrine and riverside temple are separate destinations; decide which one you want when arranging transport.
