Vishnumati is the ward-office area for Budhanilakantha Ward 5. The municipal profile associates the ward with Vishnudwar, Danda Gaun, Chisini and ISKCON, as well as the Shivapuri forest area.

Vishnudwar and ISKCON are distinct religious destinations; Danda Gaun and Chisini provide settlement names to use when checking a more local address. The municipality-wide name Budhanilkantha covers a much larger area than the reclining Vishnu temple precinct.
