Budhanilkantha Temple is at Narayansthan in Budhanilakantha Ward 3. The municipal profile explicitly places the temple in this ward, and Narayansthan is the ward-office area in the current introduction.
The reclining Vishnu and Narayansthan
The shrine’s stone image shows Vishnu reclining on serpents in a pond. The Nepal Tourism Board dates the single-rock sculpture to the Lichchhavi period and identifies Harishayani and Haribodhini Ekadashi as major fair days. Check the current festival dates before planning around them.
