Chanaute is a settlement in Ward 4 of Khanikhola Rural Municipality, located along the Bagmati River in Kavrepalanchok District. The area suffered severe flooding in September 2024, which destroyed homes and farmland, displacing families like Prakash Singtan’s who now live in temporary tarpaulin shelters.[7] Local authorities are working on resettlement efforts, though challenges persist due to lack of land and funding.[7]
