*Paknajol**

Ward No. 16 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, historically known as Paknajol, is the largest ward by area (437 hectares) in the northwest, encompassing key neighborhoods like Thamel, Chhetrapati, Paknajol, Sorhakhutte, Balaju, Mhaypi, Naya Bazar, and Banasthali.[1][3][4]

It is renowned for tourist hubs such as Thamel and Chhetrapati with hotels and lodges, the Balaju Industrial District (Nepal’s largest), and attractions like the 22 water spouts of Balaju (Baisdhara), Raniban forest, Mhaypi Temple, and Siddhi Ganesh shrine in Paknajol.[1][3] The ward features the Ring Road through its center, historic sites along the Bishnumati River, and ongoing projects like sewer lines and housing in Khusibun, though it faces issues like encroachment and poor maintenance of heritage spots.[1]
