*Purano Naikap**

Ward No. 13 of Chandragiri Municipality is primarily known as Purano Naikap (also referred to as Purano Naikap Bhanjyang in historical contexts), the main neighborhood name derived from its former Village Development Committee (VDC).[1][2][4] Other areas or toles within this ward include parts of the former Purano Naikap VDC (previously wards 1-9) and specific former municipal wards 19 and 21.[2][4]

This residential and semi-urban ward, located in the southwest fringes of Kathmandu Valley along the Prithvi Highway gateway, features ongoing development like the Madan Bhandari Park and retains its identity from the merged Purano Naikap VDC.[3][5] It is characterized by a mix of local communities, hillside terrain near Chandragiri hills (historically significant for King Prithvi Narayan Shah’s unification campaigns), and proximity to Thankot and Balambu areas.[1][3]
