Tokha Saraswati (Ward No. 3)

Tokha Saraswati is the area named for Ward 3 in the municipal directory and cooperative address register. It forms part of the historic town area alongside Ward 2.

This ward is part of Tokha Municipality in Kathmandu District.

Bhutkhel, Masankali and the old town

Tokha’s introduction names Bhutkhel ground and Masankali Temple in the Saraswati area. Its 2080 BS programme links Wards 2 and 3 with the chaku-making tradition. The same programme describes Ward 3 as including former Saraswati and part of the former Gongabu area, so the ward boundary is broader than the Saraswati name alone.
