Ward No. 1 of Suryabinayak Municipality is primarily known as Sirutar, encompassing the former Sirutar VDC and the southern part of the former Dadhikot VDC.[1][2][4][5] Other neighborhoods or toles within this ward include Dadhikot (southern section).[1][6]

This residential area, located about 4 km from Bhaktapur and 9 km from Kathmandu at around 1,300 meters elevation, features fertile lands historically known for dense settlements and good crops; it once had a king’s palace with a garden called “Swaga” in Newari.[5] Notable characteristics include its “P”-shaped layout extending east-west in southern Bhaktapur District, with some parts covered by urban water supply projects alongside Ward 4.[6] It forms part of Suryabinayak Municipality in Bhaktapur District, Bagmati Province.[3][4]
